The Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is working towards an ambitious goal of reaching 80 million women with services that will increase their incomes by an average of 30%. The strategy focuses on five core levers: Capital, Data, Digital Tools, Markets, and Care, with particular emphasis on implementation in India and Kenya, alongside several exploratory countries.
Kore Global is part of a consortium led by Mathematica and, together with partner Athena, was selected as the lead Measurement, Learning, and Evaluation (MLE) partner for the WEE team. Through this partnership, our multidisciplinary consortium is supporting the WEE team to develop and implement a cohesive system for capturing, synthesizing, and sharing key data and evidence across multiple stakeholders and geographies. Within this consortium, Kore Global brings specific expertise in qualitative research methods, participatory approaches, and deep knowledge of the care economy, complementing the technical strengths of our consortium partners.
Since December 2023, our consortium has worked closely with the WEE team to strengthen their evidence base and measurement frameworks. Kore Global provides expert inputs on WEE measurement and leads on evidence synthesis and knowledge production, bringing together evidence, learning, and measurement expertise on what works to economically empower women.
Our partnership continues to evolve as we work alongside the WEE team and our consortium partners to build robust evidence for what works in women’s economic empowerment and to ensure that learning is effectively captured and shared across the foundation’s extensive network of partners and grantees.
