SVRI New Strategic Plan 2025-2030

Kore Global partnered with the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) to develop their new Strategic Plan for 2025-2030. SVRI, a global leader in supporting collaborative evidence generation on violence against women (VAW) and violence against children (VAC) prevention and response, sought to build on the success of its 2020-2024 Strategic Plan. In this collaboration, Kore Global led the co-creation process for a comprehensive strategy grounded in SVRI’s feminist, inclusive, human rights, and decolonial principles, ensuring it continues to serve as a convener and catalyst in the VAW and VAC research fields.

Kore Global adopted a multi-phase, participatory approach that leveraged our extensive experience in the VAW and VAC sectors. We engaged with SVRI’s Strategic Planning Committee through a series of workshops to align on goals and methodologies. This inclusive co-design process was fundamental to our approach, ensuring diverse perspectives shaped the strategic direction.

Our work involved conducting a thorough review of SVRI’s impact, mapping their progress toward their strategic vision, and identifying strategic shifts. We also assessed the current ecosystem to pinpoint gaps in evidence-building, advocacy, and capacity needs. Engaging SVRI’s broad membership through a survey and consultations validated findings and surfaced key issues for the new strategy.

The project achieved the following key objectives:

  • Mapping Impact: Provided a comprehensive understanding of SVRI’s contributions to the VAW and VAC research fields, highlighting significant outcomes and strategic shifts since its inception.
  • Identifying Gaps and Opportunities: Assessed the current landscape and pinpointed critical areas for SVRI to focus on in the upcoming strategic period.
  • Inclusive Co-Design: Ensured the strategic plan was co-created with input from diverse stakeholders, embodying feminist and inclusive principles.

Design methodologies included a global survey to gather insights from SVRI’s membership and a series of stakeholder consultation webinars. These activities culminated in a concise, actionable strategic plan supported by an internal implementation and dissemination plan.

We are proud to have supported SVRI in creating a vibrant strategy that will guide their efforts and ensure their continued impact in preventing violence against women and violence against children.
